Theresa I'm so sorry about your wrist I know it's going to be hard not completing it this June but imagine your sense of achievement when you're healed and you do get over an Ironman 70.3 finish line! Will you keep us updated? I'm really feeling for you

Thanks, my wrist is broken, across my radius bone. I'll have a look at that race once the pain has subsided! I had a better sleep last night so not as emotional although when I get to work and all the school kids are fussing I might have another little cry.

The Vitruvian is a great race! It says it's full on the website but I know the organisers (as does Kate) so i reckon we could swing you an entry. No rush to decide. Take a few days to come to terms with what's happened first. But i promise you that if you want to we can get you round a 70.3 this year. Google Susie Cheetham. She is a pro friend of mine - broke her elbow in a race in January. Had surgery. Bounced back to finish second in Ironman South Africa around 10 weeks later. So it's definitely possible. And what an enormous achievement it will be when you do get round. Keep in touch with me on email Theresa. If you want it to happen i'm going to help you make sure it does! Lucy

So sorry to hear this Theresa. It looks like you've got loads of support though and it'll be an amazing story when you do get round a 70.3 course!

Update on the wrist. Lovely pink cast put on today. Doctor pleased with how it's healing, only have to have it on for three more weeks. Hope the last few weeks of training are going well. I'm going to try a run tomorrow now that my new cast is lighter.

Tritree your very inspirational and positive keep it up. So the plaster will literally come of just before the event!? Might be worth asking if you can have some sort of support and see what they have. Most wrist splints would not allow gear changes but could hold your wrist when running. A neoprene splint would be flexible and could be worn throughtout, it would be beneficial if it felt it helped you! Some people like couple layers tubi-grip and if this works for you, that is all that matters. BW kate

Kate, it comes off on the 14th June so just after the event. I've entered sundowner in September so hoping to get back into training this week. Thanks for your good wishes. Tree

Yes thank you and the thoughtful card. I sent yours just before the bank holiday so probably won't arrive until later this week.

My wrist is great. No pain any more just the cast getting on my nerves. Been back on my bike on the turbo trainer which is a bit awkward but manageable. Not plucked up the courage to run yet! Also done some circuit classes which I loved, legs are aching as every time it involved arms, I had to do extra legs! Can't believe it's only a week away. Weather is very warm in the north west, hope it cools down for the race, xxx
